Hi all,

Running AE CS5 and am noticing everytime I place an image in a comp, the aspect ratio is different than the original AR on the image. In short, the image is being squished when I place it in the comp. Not really a big deal, but I could save some time if I didn't have to adjust.

I can't seem find to anything in preferences.

Thanks and I hope this enough info to provide an answer.

it's most likely a pixel aspect ratio issue... where ae thinks the par is different then what it actually is.

do you know what the par is for the images? if so you can select an image in the project window, then choose file>interpret footage>main... and set the par in interpret footage window.

once you've done that for one image, you can select it and choose file>interpret footage>remember interpretation and then select all the other images that have the same issue and choose file>interpret footage>apply interpretation.

Also, have you turned on the aspect ratio compensation switch for your comp window?
