Audio Induced Crash

Hey,

Working on a project at the moment with multiple video files, lets say its similar to a video wall. Some of the video files use there audio track, others either have them turned off or don,t have one. When i RAM preview the project using some videos with audio i crashes but only when the audio is enabled. The error code i keep getting is (26::311) which is related to plugins (i,m working in the ancient AE7). I,m hoping to get through this without reinstalling AE so if anyone has any ideas give me a shout.

I have tried exporting the clip with different audio settings from avid.

Cheers

Dan

From what i remember AE7 did not like just any audio- wav or aiff worked best- mp3 caused problems. Maybe you should try exporting the audio as a separate file (one track) and bring that in AE for preview.

What's the codec(s) of the video files? Please don't say they're HDV or some kind of mpeg/mp4/h.264.

The video files have been exported same as source from avid which is giving me DV-PAL clips.

The problem however seems to have fixed itself for now but don,t think it,s the last i,ll see of it.

Cheers guys for being rapid in your response.

I'd try trashing the preferences file:
