Okay folks I have a problem that is driving me batty using Trapcode Soundkeys. Short version, I can map soundkeys, work with ranges, assign to particles and so on. No problem with that.

But I am working with a musical track (Mancini's Love Story) that has BOTH a piano and violin; is there a way of isolating these instruments? do I need to separate layers? My understanding so far is its very difficult to do just on frequency since most instruments overlap, so how is this achieved, I've seen it done but don't understand it.

Thanks

Mark

I recommend the adobe audition forum which supports isolating instruments.

Installed Audition, though still new to sound I've toyed with different views settings and so on but no idea how to isolate an instrument; drats, I cant find this anywhere and yet I know its been done, have seen some wonderful gallery pieces with clearly two distinct soundkey layers for piano and violin. Unfortunately both instruments crossover frequency ranges, so I cant really remove one without affecting another.

If anyone has any thoughts I'm open to new ideas ;)

Mark
