Trim out shortcut leaves a frame at the end. Why?
on Aug 10, 2010 at 7:56:10 pm

Hi,

funny thing: when I trim the out point of a layer with the Alt (Option) + ] shortcut, it does trimming, but always leaves one single frame behind the trim point. Why does it work like this?

thanks,
B.

The Out point is the _beginning_ of the last frame that is played.

In AE, the cursor on the timeline is at the beginning of a frame and not at the end. So whenever you are trimming you have to cosider the last frame, that frame which is after the cursor- that should be easy enough since that is the frame you see in the viewer anyway.
