Hello. I am trying to craft a scene in 2.5D and am looking for some ideas. The scene will be a still image of a lighthouse and will have a rotating beam of light emanating from the top of it. I have had some success using the beam effect but it seems to fall apart when the beam end passes between the source and the camera. My 3D capabilities are very limited (software and skill) or I'd make one (I think) that way. Does anyone have an idea? Thanks, Dale.
Here's a thought: check out Trapcode Lux. If you shine a normal AE light at the camera, you don't see anything. With the addition of Lux, you get that overexposed, glare-type look as the light rotates.
