i want to create a textframe with hyphenation in ae cs5
but i can't seem to find the option for switching it on.
am i just blind, or just isn't there any option to do this in ae?

thanx in advance for any helpfull answer.

edit: there had been a check box in older cs versions of ae.
anybody knows where it's gone?

Sorry, but I don't understand what you mean. If I want a hyphen on a text layer, I hit the hyphen key, and there it is.

Again, I don't know WHICH check box you mean. Can you be more specific?

thx for the qiuck reply in advance.

it's about the automatic hyphenation like in ps or idd.
means, if i copy paste a long text into a textbox, the
words get hyphenated when the get close to the border.

maybe you can give me a hint.

As far as I know, there's no such thing in AE.

And you know what? I don't miss it one bit. I'd just as soon control my own typography, thanks. The real estate in my images is too valuable to leave it up to something like that.

thx for the info. at least i'm not blind.

and yes, your absolutely rite bout taking care
about the type by oneself for a good final result.
(being involved in graphic design since over ten
years now, that's verry familiar to me).

but for throwimg out some quick layouts,
it would come in very handy...

but thx a lot anyways.

Have you read this? You have to have entered text in paragraph mode for it to work though. You can convert it to paragraph text, if you've already typed it.
