Hi there,

Was watching this short music video, and was wondering how they accomplished the sequence where the guy is "hanging" in the air? Jumping up and only filming that part all the time and adding that together? Or is there another way?

Looks like the guys was just jumping and and they took singles frames from when he was at his highest peak.

I noticed that you never see the guy's backside. It would be a very handy place to attach a green screen rig supporting the guy by the hips, if you ask me.

A rig also allows for a second camera to shoot up at the talent, creating the proper angle for reflections in the wet pavement.

"NOT JUMPING" BUT SUSPENDED

I've used a sequence of frames showing "top of jump or skip." This method created a jerky but similar flying effect. However HEAD HEIGHT was never stable. Some jumps were higher than others.

In long and med shots of this "BE STRONG" video the actor's head height is consistent. I'd say he looks suspended and he's performing more of a jerky "twist" than a jump.

I found Google links saying video used FINAL CUT. Director Oliver Goodrum was quoted, "CLAIRE McGONIGAL had a long painful task of editing the whole mess together."

I think she and the team did an awesome job!
