Hi,

making an effect and I'd like to include the real vectorscope as generated from the footage. so far i can only find programs that generate it on the fly but nothing that will record it in any way. any ideas?

thanks in advance

Alex

Go shoot a vectorscope while the footage plays. Works like a charm. If you're hoping for a software solution, I can't think of one.

You could do a screen capture of it as it plays. I use Snapz-pro for this
sort of thing but I imagine there are a bunch of options for screen capture software.

I dunno, but if you're on a Mac/FCP, you might be able to pull it off... IF you can get the FCP vectorscope to play back in real time.

I use iShowU, and it'll work for this kind of stuff, too.

really? so no dropped frames with a reasonable size window (say PAL) at 25fps?

Yeah, as long as you're not trying to do something really dumb like trying to run three layers of unrendered video and use the screen capture application on a laptop with a single external drive while checking your email.
