Hello all!

I am looking for some help for creating a command line effect like you might see in DOS. Something like what is shown at :16 in this matrix intro>

I'm not sure where to start. Any help?

Thanks in advance...

Find the proper font, turn proportionate spacing off, and use one of AE's text animation presets to do the character-by-character typing. Make a character-sized solid over the character currently being typed on, and use a blend mode to invert the text color. Then animate the solid to move with hold keyframes.

Add a little glow and you're done!

Oh, and this'll make your font search easier: if you want PRECISELY what you see in the example, try Courier. If you want something that looks more computery, check out the two variants of OCR.
