Hi guys!

I'm looking for a tutorial on how to achieve this effect.

I've tried this myself but i can't seem to get it right.

The effect i'm talking about is the 3D like pop out of the characters.

you'll need to 'cut out' the elements that you want to layer in z-space.

you could do that in ae, but i would recommend an app like photoshop.

you'll also need to use the cloning (rubber stamp) and/or some other tools (like smudge/smear and paint) to fill in the 'holes' in the background where the cut out elements were removed.

once you have that, bring those layers into ae, make them 3-d, layer them in z-space, add a camera and animate a camera move.

you may also want to force the layers to always face the camera. you can do that by selecting them in the comp, then choosing layer>auto orient... and select 'towards camera'.

Here's a tutorial for what Kevin is talking about.
