It's a pretty basic problem you see on local TV ads... when a picture or still is on TV, the TV hums depending on the brightness of the image, and the screen shakes and makes your eyes water. Well I'm having this same problem on my own monitor. Is there a way to fix this? I'd love to post an example, but it doesn't do it on computer screens, only (non-HD) TV's. Please help me! It would make life so much easier. Thanks!

Your video and/or chroma levels are too high. You need to make 'em broadcast legal. I recommend a nifty plugin called Scopo Gigio, a software-based vectorscope and waveform monitor. Once you set it up properly, it tells you no lies.

You can use Color Finesse, which is built into AE, but it's kind of cumbersome to use, not to mention time-consuming.

After a fashion, you may find it's easier to simply pay the 75 bucks to have the same thing whenever you need it right in AE.
