Hi, I made a few 3D layers over video so that a title comes down from above and sits on a table (and a few letters extend off of the table).

I have the table layer perfect, where the title's shadow is cast on the top of the table the way I want it.

But because the title extends off of the table, I want the shadow to be cast onto the floor as well... that's where I get a problem. I can see the floor shadows through the table top layer.

There must be a setting that I'm not doing right.

How do I get AE to recognize that the table is above the floor and therefore should cover up the shadows on the floor?

Any help would be great.

Few things to clarify:
Text, floor and table top are 3d layers- right?
The shadows are real 3d shadows cast by a light- correct?

Yes that's exactly right Ted.

I used masks to try and solve the problem... it's acceptable, but I'm still wondering if there's an easier way?
