I see you're a first-time poster.

Do you have any AE experience?
Are you trying to use it intuitively, which is EXTREMELY difficult if not impossible to do?
Where are you seeing this aliased Look?
Have you checked your comp settings to confirm that the comp is actually 1920x1080? Could it be 1440x1080?

thanks for responding.. no. I'm not a first user, but I was making an extremely stupid mistake.
I'm just getting going with HD.. been working in SD. so my composition window was in the "Fit" mode
and not at "100%". problem solved when I realized it.
I have a quick other related question though-if you have the time-

now that i am working in HD... what bpc should I be using.?not 8bpc I assume..
do I need to do 32 bpc when working in HD??? or is 16bpc good?

the job is making film titles for an HD 1920 x 1080 film. need to get up to speed on all this..

thanks for all your help

This page should explain a lot about color depth.
