Hit the buffers on this one. Need to produce a line drawing using paint tool on a solid that I can then zoom in on. There seems to be an issue with the continually rasterise button. I can only scale things with rasterise switched off ... no good. Also I had to select every brushstroke to make that happen. Should I have pre-comped? What's the best way of doing this? I've considered making a comp way larger than the DV widescreen size I need so degradation from zooming in doesn't matter but don't want long render times. I have to do tis in AE, no time or budget to do it in Illustrator or whatever. Grateful for any ideas.

You could convert the paint strokes to masks by copying/pasting or autotrace like in this tutorial:

Then you can scale as much as you want.

Or create a large version of your drawing.
