Greetings. Can someone tell me why I'm able to playback a ripped Youtube video with Adobe's media player, but when I try importing it to AE it tells me that the file is corrupted? Thanks for any help.

Let me look into my crystal ball.....

Nope, not sign. Sorry.

Since we know NOTHING about the nature of this ripped video -- how it was captured and the capture codec, for starters -- how do you expect us to diagnose the problem? Clairvoyance, or something?

A thousand pardons. I found a link somewhere that explained the following: Using Safari (which I am), let the entire video playback. Find the link in Safari's activity window, and Option-double click to download it. Once downloaded, simply rename it to blahblah.flv.

That's fine if the video is actually flash video, but what if it isn't?

I'm sorry, I'm not going to be much help to you: I get that deer-in-the-headlights look on my face at the mere mention of Flash.
