hi
i've been working quite a bit recently using the sony ex1
i usually shoot in the EX 720p25 setting and capture the footage in that codec. i'll cut in final cut in a prores timeline but then import the raw footage into after effects.
i'm interpreting the footage as either HDTV (Rec. 709) or SDTV Pal.
are there any suggestions of a more correct colour space?
thanks
brad

You have more fundamental problems than color space. XDCam EX footage is contained in an mp4 wrapper, and it doesn't work well in AE. It may not work at all.

On the Final Cut Pro Forum, I recently asked how to overcome this problem with XDCam EX footage. You may find it instructive:

i'm interpreting the footage as either HDTV (Rec. 709) or SDTV Pal.

Those are two different video resolutions. I'm confused by what you're going to do with it in AE. Are you going to render an HD-resolution file in AE? Or an SD file?

You can't very well change the resolution of the footage: it's fixed.
