Need to upgrade - but what about my plugins??

I want to upgrade from CS3 - preferably to CS4, but possibly to CS5, but what happens to my plugins? Will they automatically transfer to the new suite or will I need to reinstall, or worse will I need to re-purchase?

Can't afford to buy Trapcode again!

Thanks in advance.

Well, here's what Red Giant Software -- a sort of Plugin Superstore -- has to say about it:

Most plug-ins that worked in CS3 will work in CS4, but the 64bit may be worth the upgrade...

[Tudor "Ted" Jelescu] "...the 64bit may be worth the upgrade... "

Oh, it's both inevitable and mandatory, Ted. I doubt Adobe will ever again produce 32-bit versions of any software. Unless you'll be happy using AE 9 for many years to come on a legacy computer and legacy OS, there isn't a whole lot of choice.
