I have a bunch of mp3 VO files that I am adding to my project.

If I play them outside of FCP they sound perfect.

If I add them to my timeline I get a little audio pop/glitch every few seconds... it's very slight.

If I export the same mp3 as a AIFF then bring it into FCP the problem goes away.

I want to try not to have to convert every time someone sends me an mp3... is there a way to get around this without converting?

Can FCP not handle mp3?

Thanks for your help

Whether in AE, FCP or any other software, editing with mp3 audio is the equivalent of editing with wmv video. The best approach is to tell your clients to only send you either wav or aif auido and, if they insist on sending mp3, convert it to one of the others ... and bill the client the extra time to do so. The only alternative is for both you and the client to accept final edits with poor audio.

MP3's are compressed audio and FCP and AFX will re-compress them resulting in pops.

You must convert these first to work with them properly.
