I have a series of still images taken from a time lapse camera and I want to create a sequence of them. What is the best way to do this?

Watch this tut - in the middle of it, Rob shows you exactly how to sequence a bunch of images. He uses the technique to create a custom particle but take out the particular stuff and you've got your answer.

How does one import a sequence when what I have are folders of JPGs?

Usually the JPGs are numbered files- that will allow you to import them as a sequence by checking that option in the import window.
If you have your JPGs in several folders, import them as separate sequences, put them together in the proper order and nest them in a comp, then apply what I previously suggested.

Another way I do it:

Import all your JPEGS, drag them all into the comp, then click animation/keyframe assistant/sequence layers - set the desired time length and vwala.

Cool thanks actually the jpeg sequence thing works well once you get the hang of it. The keyframe assistant way was how I originally tried and it gave me complications. Thanks for the input.
