I posted this on the C4D board to no avail, so I thought I'd try it over here, as I know how many AE users are C4D users as well.

I am looking for a good training book for C4D.

Something along the lines of Trish Meyers AE book, but for C4D would be great.

I prefer a book so I can read outdoors or without wires.

thanks!

[Tom Masters] "I prefer a book so I can read outdoors or without wires. "

WHAT???

You want actual paper pages? And you actually want to use it outside where there's sunshine, chirping birds and fresh air?

Aren't you worried about the dangers of a bird making a bombing run on you? Or a doggie coming up and disturbing you? Or an errant breeze losing your place? Or airborne germs? Or people looking oddly at you?

You, sir, are a Luddite of the first degree!

I hope you know I'm kidding. Have you checked out Amazon or B&N? Those guys are pretty darned good about having up-to-date how-to books.

Sorry, Tom, but there are very few book on Cinema 4D. I don't think that there are any books for the current release (R11.5), which means there are no books that cover the big new dynamics features for MoGraph 2.

I tried learning R10 with a book, but ultimately I found the training videos a lot easier to follow. I don't think there is anything comparable to the Meyer's AE books.

Perhaps you could get the training videos on an iPad. That way you get the outside/fresh air, but still get the more effective video training.
And finally; a use for the iPad.

I've learned a ton from Tim Clapham. He's done a few classes with FXPHD that were quite good.

MAXON's Cineversity looks to have some exciting updates coming this year, too.
