Using vector paint in a 3D comp on a few .png layers. It's doing this weird thing where the effect will be visible at the beginning of the timeline, but will then disappear if I advance a few frames. It just vanishes. There are no key frames or anything like that.

I've tried using different render modes (adaptive resolution and Open GL) and just purging all frames.

Nothing seems to work. I've never had this effect behave in this way.

Any ideas?

The strokes for the Vector Paint effect can be set to be of various durations, depending on playback mode. For example Current Frame just shows strokes on the frames on which they're drawn. See the information here about playback mode.
