After Effects not reading plugins
by dan smith on Jan 4, 2010 at 9:33:50 pm
So I just got a new Mac at work and when we put after effects on it, it isnt reading my plugins properly. Where they usually have the plugin icon and say they are and after effects pluging, there is just a generic blank page icon and it says photoshop plugin. So when i try to put in my C4D plugin in after effects plugins, it just goes in as that generic icon and i cannot import and .aec files into after effects. Any ideas?

I'll bet that you need to run the plugin INSTALLERS. It's a rare plugin indeed that lets you simply drag a file into the plugins folder. They almost always need to be installed, and every software developer on the planet seems to have a different method for installing plugins.
So track down them installers, come prepared with keycodes and such, and have a ball reinstalling them.
