I am trying to create a tumbling text sequence like seen here in HBO's The Buzz...
http://www.hbo.com/scripts/video/vidplayer.html?section=sopranos

It seems simple enough to just rotate down each layer. But for some reason I am having a lot of trouble achieving the feeling that all the text is connected like a string of paper dolls.

Any advice would be much appreciated! Thanks!

You've been through all the text animation presets and found nothing to your liking, right?

You definitely can't achieve this with a preset because each line falls a little bit differently. I know there's not a super "easy" fix but I do feel like I am missing a step.... :(

Hey, i got my viewer to work! Cool! I see the problem.

That's not done with a text animation preset, it's done by making the text a 3D layer, futzing with the anchor point, and animating the x-rotation.

Notice how the last line of text wiggles back & forth? You might want to write an expression to do it. If you enjoy the process of tweaking keyframes, that'll work, too.
