Hi there.
I'm totally new to AE, and followed a tutorial ( to make a raining matrix code effect. I want to tweak this effect to use in a video. I want the black background to be transparent, and the code not "sway" or "drift". (The falling code are particles from Trapcode Particular).

I'm not asking for a how-to guide, but just the things I need to adjust to create my desired effect.
If this is posted in the wrong forum, I apologize. This is my first ever COW post.

When you apply Particular to a layer, you should be able to overlay that on another layer with transparency because that's the way Particular works by default.

As for changing other parameters, you could try looking at the physics parameters in Particular, (i.e., wind), and also play with velocity/velocity from motion and so on. Experimentation is the key.

It's only work if you'd rather be doing something else...
