I am working with 72fps (23.98) RED footage in AE. I am trying to remap the footage, speeding up some of it but when exported, all the stuff that is sped up looks really choppy (like interlaced footage that has been deinterlaced.) This is a big project and relies on this footage looking good. Not sure what to do, anybody have any advice.

The stuff that is sped up is still about 48 fps (or 2 sec. of footage for 1 second shot), so it is not sped up much.

If you actually used 23.98 as the frame rate in your AE comp, you'll have problems. 23.98 is just a nickname for the ACTUAL frame rate, which is 23.976.

When it comes to frame rates, AE calls a spade a spade, so you need to use 23.976. The easy way to speed up footage is to just open the speed panel on the timeline and set it to 300%.
