Hello all, trying to figure something out here, I've been working with the effect 'Scribble' as of late, and its been bogging my system down like crazy, I'm running CS4 on a MacBook Pro with 2 GB of memory. How is it that I can run complicated particle effects with motion blur with just a burp and Scribble brings my system to a halt? also, when I render out that project, its as fast as anything, so its just in my preview. Are my memory settings messed up? Is there any way (besides adding memory obviously) to speed all this up? As always thanks!

if it is just a preview problem, check preferences>previews and make sure that opengl acceleration is off and set acceleration to adaptive resolution. thats about the only setting that causes previews to render differently than renders...
