I am trying to create the effect of a camera flying through a cylinder, but I've hit some bumps in the road.
I had an image that was wider than it was tall, so i rotated it 90degrees, re-sized the composition to accommodate, dragged this composition into another composition, then applied cc cylinder.
Now, this cylinder/pipe is 2D, so if i use the camera tool and try to rotate around the cylinder, it will just rotate the 2D composition.
I am able to use the camera z-tracking tool to create the illusion of a camera flying down the cylinder, however all its really doing is zooming into the imgae.
The further i go down the cylinder the more pixelated it becomes.
I know AE is'nt a 3D application, but its all i have.
Does anyone have any ideas?
i think the problem is that you have it in a pre-comp. add the cc cylinder effect to a layer (2d layer) in the comp that has your camera. you should be able to move the camera around the cylinder and fly though it.
