Extracting a precomp from interest area

I also have another question: is there a way to extract a new comp from a slice of a bigger one?
Like the interest area, but I have to make a long render queue and i can't just adapt the interest area -> render and then do it again 200 times :D
I would like to cut the interest area as a new comp, do it for every slice and then render them all at once!
please help!

p.s. something like the crop tool in photoshop

To my knowledge, there is no automatic way to select layers for a precomp. You have to command-click (Mac) the layers, then use the Precompose command.
