I'm using a NLE from Harris (formerly Leitch) called VelocityHD. Great editor, just not highly adopted. I've been using AE for the last 2 years and various other composting programs for at least 10 yrs but always with SD footage. Recently I have started capturing 1080i 59.94 uncompressed 10bit footage with my NLE. After I assemble my timeline I render the sequence to AE for various treatments. The NLE renders the sequence at what it indicates as 29.97 fps so in AE I interpret the footage as 29.97fps upper field first. If I then render the resulting comp at 29.97 and import it back into the NLE the clip plays back at frames only with movement not being smooth. If I render the comp out at 59.94 the imported clip plays back smooth in the NLE but is twice as long as it should be and I have to apply a 200% speed adjust to compensate. If I interpret the footage in AE as 59.94, the 30sec clip shows up as 15sec on the AE timeline.
Any ideas as to how I can get an exact length render out of AE?
