Is there anyway to make a radial gradient? I imported my photoshop file into aftereffects and it just showed up blue. Thanks.

Apply the Ramp effect; you can figure it out from there.

If you need something more complex than the two colors in Ramp, our Gradient tool is $49 and gives you the control of the PS gradient tool and more.

Found a solution for creating a conical gradient, just like in photoshop!

1) Create new solid.
2) Apply Gradient Ramp effect, and make a LEFT TO RIGHT gradient
3) Apply Polar Coordinates effect, crank the interpolation to 100%, and change the type of Conversion to Rect to Polar

Voilá!

This thread is over 9 years old. OMG.

Also, what's wrong with just changing the ramp type to radial? Why the Polar Coordinates thing?

This creates that conical gradient from photoshop. don't know of another way to create it in AE.

Yeah, this post is old... So? Hopefully my reply will help someone - you're welcome.

OH! I understand what you're saying. I was thinking of the regular circular gradient, but you were talking about the other kind. (It really depends on which way your gradient is going.

Good suggestion! Also, yes, hopefully future forum viewers will benefit. Thanks!

This is exactly what I needed Gabriel, thanks a lot!

Needed to create a radial gradient on a circle to use as a track matte.

I know this is an old topic, but I just came across a solution that isn't mentioned here: Layer Style -> Gradient Overlay.

You can totally make a conical gradient using the Angle setting and there are several controls. I'm not sure how long this has existed in AE, but it seems like it's been integral for a long time.

Cheers!
