Ae renderer output movie increase
on Feb 9, 2017 at 12:45:48 pm

Hi All,

Im rendering a project through the console by using Aerender.

The problem is: I´d like the output file to be increased each time I render the same project through the console. rather than have that file replaced.

Ie. Output_1.mov, Output_2.mov, and so on...

hope someone out there can bring a solution to this matter, Ill be really greatfull thx

I'm not sure what a "console" is. It's not standard AE terminology.

The file automatically takes on the name of the comp... meaning you can alter the comp name, or the file name can be altered by hand if desired. Proceed accordingly.

Hi Dave,

by "console" I meant the "terminal"

Calling Ae render through it so I can render my project file with out accessing the Ae GUI.

thx

You can specify the output filename from the command line:

If you were writing a script that controlled aerender, the script could determine what the next available name was and pass it as an argument to aerender.

Dear Walter,

Thx for your reply, that´s exactly what I am trying to do, yet my scripting skills are let´s say: "val= none, to, not that good"

Would you know how to script a command as such?

Sincerely yours.

Victor.
