I have a shape layer with an image placed underneath with an alpha matte applied to it. I can see a section from the image below through the shape I drew. However, I was wondering if there was a way to fit the borders of the whole image within the outline of the shape, distorting/warping the image as needed.

You'd have to precomp the shape, and make the precomp the same size as your main comp. Make sure the shape layer's in the proper position in the comp. Then if you use the precomp as the track matte, things should work as you want.

Depending on the actual shape of the image and the shape layer, it might be easier just to put a mask on the image.

Hi Dan, perhaps you are looking for something like the Mesh Warp effect?

Dave/Greg,

Thanks for your responses! Mesh Warp worked perfectly for what I needed.
