Best light-wrapping tool?
on Dec 6, 2016 at 5:10:03 pm

Greetings folks!

I key in keylight but need a good light-wrapping tool. I've been doing it manually all these years! Any recommendations?

(And, while we're at it... does anyone use a keying tool that just blows away keylight?)

THANKS!

Tom

Sorry, but I don't, but I don't see why it wouldn't.

Red Giant has a keying suite that might be better than Keylight for some shots and they have something called Composite Wizard in their effects suite that does light wrapping among lots of other things. They were having a big sale yesterday that extended into today, so if it's still going, GET ON IT!

For some shots Keylight is best, for others, something else works better. Each shot is different.

+1. Red Giant's Keying Suite features Primatte Keyer, which I find a lot more artist-friendly and often reach for before Keylight.

i second primatte.

I also made an AE 32bpc keyer template that features:
despill/deartifact/lightwrap/inner/outer blur with custom edge transparency. I think it has some cool parts and its very customizable.

If you're on a Mac, Hawaiki Keyer 3 is great.
