Hello...

Is the continuous rasterizing of Illustrator files in AE only for preview purposes? or will this setting also affect the final output render of the composition? The thought came to mind because I was thinking how (and if) final render times are affected by this setting.... or maybe AE just does its thing regardless when it comes to final output.

Thanks!

[David Percevault] "Is the continuous rasterizing of Illustrator files in AE only for preview purposes?"

the only time you need to continuously rasterize an illustrator layer is when you want to scale it above 100% and not lose quality. (another case is for render order purposes but this is rarely the case). so if you don't need to, leave it unchecked and save render time. if you need it to be on, it's calculations are obviously taken into account when you render because Ae has to rasterize everything before it renders the frame.
