Posting this is both after effects and Cinema 4D sections

Im working on a scene that has a lot of videos screens and am trying to use the object buffer and integration with after effects to make things easier but the masks for the screens have straight edges where the screens and the monitors they are housed in are rounded the object that the masks are using does have rounded edges

is there a way i can round the edges of the masks so it matches what i have in the scene otherwise the videos that are shown on the screens float about them

Thanks

Andrew

[Andrew Wagstaff] "is there a way i can round the edges of the masks"

I am reading your post but find it hard to understand exactly what you are trying to pull off. are you saying you have a rectangle mask path that you want to be rounded? can show explain further and maybe show an isolated mask so we can see exactly what is happening vs what you want to happen?

You mentioned using object buffers, but I don't see any in your scene.

You'll need to set up and export an object buffer sequence from C4D first. Then bring that into your AE comp and use it as a luma matte for your screens.

Sorry for not explaining clearly the objects that make up the screens have rounded corners the frames are separate objects and dont have any composting tags

what i want to do is make the corners of the masks rounded so when i add the video file to be displayed on the screen it matches the screen

I think you are maybe going the wrong way here. it seems to me the objects (the red solids) should be below the the big 3D CG control room and it should be transparent. this way you don't need it to be rounded since it will be cut by the big element on top of it.
