Anyone know how I could fill each element of my repeater with a different colour?

Imagine I have 10 boxes appearing via a shape layer and repeater, can I have each of those boxes be a different colour? I've tried using a gradient fill, but I can't get hard stops between each colour change. There is always a smoothing effect, it stops at 95%.

From this thread [link]:
Nope. They are instances of the one shape. The best you can do is have the shapes be black. Duplicate it and set the bottom layer to be white. Then change the opacity on the repeater of the black layer. This will have them Chang from black to white. Then add the colorama effect that will take the b/w gradient and change it to any colors you want.

There is also this:

I hope that helps.
