Adding tracking info to cloned paint position data

Hello.

I have a tee box that I am painting divots out of. After I paint them it looks great.

The shot tilts up (meaning the ground leaves the bottom of the frame during the tilt). I have tracking data that tracks the ground from the Mocha Pro plugin which allows me to get the tracking data however I need it. Right now, I have the tracking data pasted on to a null, but I can rearrange the data however necessary to accomplish the goal.

The goal:

Is there a way I can link the cloned point to the tracking data so that the cloned points move along with the track?

Thanks.

Jeremy

Create a null and copy/paste the your tracked layer's reference frame position to this null.

Link the tracker to this null (so you'll zero out it's relative position's value).

add expressions to each clone stamp brush position and write "value + " and pickwip the tracked data layer's position.

this should work:

1. duplicate the footage layer with the clone effect

2. set the clone effect to "paint on transparent" for the duplicate. now you have just the stamped clone on transparent.

3. disable the effect for the original footage layer

4. parent the duplicate to the null.

[Roei Tzoref] "2. set the clone effect to "paint on transparent" for the duplicate. now you have just the stamped clone on transparent."

This is the first thing I tried and it didn't work. The layer was transparent and didn't retain the clones.

I found another (similar) way to do it that's working. I was going to use expressions but I had 50 paint strokes to express, and I got lazy. ?. I masked all the divots in Mocha. Exported the painted layer as a freeze, reimported and luma matted the mocha layer, then patented the freeze frame to the null w/tracking data.

Necessity truly is the mother of invention.

I'll try your proposed method again today. I don't know about you, but I have major troubles getting through a day of After Effects. Nothing but memory leaks and crash errors.

it could be confusing but you need a duplicate for you to use this feature. actually you can even use a solid layer. just copy the paint effect onto it and tick the transparency
