How can I get a percentage character beside my number counter?

I'm trying to animate a slider where the amount is indicated by a percentage. I'm able to animate the numbers but I would also like to get the percentage symbol beside it.

Use an expression to drive the contents of a text layer. Add a text layer to your comp, put in any dummy text you like, and format it however you want. Add a Slider Control effect to the text. In the timeline, twirl open the text layer itself, then twirl open its Text property. Alt+click the stopwatch icon on the Text Source property and paste the following:

Math.floor(effect("Slider Control")("Slider")) + "%"
