Dear Community

I'm quite new to visual effects and I have a problem I couldn't solve until now.
My Question is: Does anybody of you know, how to use a 3D (OBJ) Model as a reference to tell the particles "how to look like"
The only technique i know is how to use imgaes as a reference for the particles appereance.
In addition i just noticed the plugin provides the possibility to set the base/emitter to an Obj shape but that's not what I want.

S P E C S:

Windows 7 Professional 64 Bit
After Effects CS6
Trapcode Form ver. 2.0.9
Trapcode Particular ver. 2.2.6

Hope to hear from you guys!
Thanks a lot and have a nice day!

With an .obj you can only get the position information for the particles from the vertices, the texture channels are for controlling the look, size, color, displacement, etc. of the particles

Using .obj files directly as particles is not possible, you'll have to prerender them as footage or use precomps containing 3D renders of the objects (by which I mean using something like Element 3D to render them in 3D inside a precomp). The latter can be quite slow, so I'd recommend rendering them out.

Ah, I see!
This helped a lot, I tried it and it worked with element 3d.
I'm really thankful and glad!

May I ask you another question?
I used Trapcode Particular and animated a kind of smooth wave. (with a light as an emitter)
As far as I know it's applied in 3d-space but I can't move around with an additional camera?
I am able to zoom but I can't tilt, what did i do wrong?

Thanks in advance!
Have a nice day :)

The first thing to check is whether the new camera is the active camera. The next thing is that you're using the right camera tool that rotates around the scene, not the zoom camera tool. Other reasons exist.

Well this is now kinda awkward and definitely a facepalm worth!
The camera wasn't active...

Thanks a lot for your help, really appreciate it!
