Deliverying at 59.94 - how to avoid the "Video" Look?

I'm delivering a bunch of motion graphics created in After Effects, rendered out as 59.94p.

My issue is with the look I'm getting - ye olde "video" loo - higher frame rate, not pretty.
Any way to avoid this?

thanks!

Um, you'd better talk to the client before you go changing frame rates.

There may be a very good reason for the need for 59.94, and your personal taste may play no role in it.

It's possible to do what you want and still deliver in 59.94, but I for one wouldn't assume that I could alter a frame rate without first consulting with the client.

Oh absolutely! I
have no intention of changing the frame rate - I will deliver what the online facility requires.
Just wanted to know if there are any methods to avoid getting the "look" while maintaining 59.94 fps.

cheers

I think you miss the point.

There may be a good reason why the client specifically needs the motion inherent in 59.94. The client may not be able to use "film look" motion for some reason. It's definitely worth a call to find that out.

We are doing a bunch of HFR content right now, because smooth, rapid motion is a creative requirement for the client. It ties in with their interactive experiences. In this case, a more filmic look would be inappropriate.

But to answer your question, you can output at a different frame rate than you work. Set your output module to match the deliverable specs, and do your creative work in a comp with the frame rate you want. Just make sure to check "Preserve frame rate when nested or in render queue" in the comp's Advanced settings.

Thanks Walter! This is what I was talking about.
I will check about the desired look, whether they need the HFR look or not.
