Knoll Light Factory Not Installing Properly
on Aug 30, 2016 at 10:45:52 pm

Hi,
So I've just upgraded my PC and have been trying to install my Red Giant Plugins. But for some reason this error message keeps on coming up whenever I start After Effects. Also whenever I open the Knoll Light Factory layout screen, none of the presets that are usually there, are there any more.
How would I fix this?
Thanks
Ismail

Red Giant plugins have a history of install problems. They don't always play well, especially if you're not installing to the C:/ drive. Here's an FAQ from RG:

https://support.redgiant.com/hc/en-us/articles/219486068

When I switched to a new workstation, and had to reinstall the RG suites, I had random problems - some of the plugins installed correctly and some didn't. I had to go to the C:/ drive, and move some of the plugin files to the drive I had Adobe After Effects installed on. It can be a pain in the neck!

You may need to move the plugins from the Common folder to the After Effects/Plugins folder (or whatever your particular machine is using. Try one of them, see if it works, then move all of them. Good luck!

Hi,
Thank you for your response and moving the plugins from the common folder to the plugins folder worked.
However none of the built in presets are showing up.
Thank you
Ismail

Try opening the Effects and Presets window - that sometimes needs to be done to get them to show up. If not, try moving the Presets folder in the same way you moved the plugins; that may do it.
