Hey guys really sorry for posting that question in the wrong forum, I'll be sure to remove it. Anyway, I got it done (the voicijg came out not so bad actually) but now the real problem is syncing my voice to a audio form like KITT's three bars. I know there are tutorials on syncing music to audio waveforms etc. in AE but how would I make three bars sync with my voice like it's supposed to?

I would use the Audio Amplitude of the voice track to drive the vertical scale of three bars -- one in the middle that is scales a lot and the two outer bars that scale less -- then Mosaic it, mask it with the bar shapes, mirror it upside down, and throw on a little glow.

Sorry, I'm a but new to this whole audio syncing stuff in AE because I've never had to use audio in AE before. So how would I make the three bars? And once I make them I drag my mp3 into the comp and apply the Audio Amplitude to it? Just a little lost sorry.

[Soham Jani] " So how would I make the three bars? And once I make them I drag my mp3 into the comp and apply the Audio Amplitude to it?"

Start "VFX thinking." There is not one effect you can apply to get the result you're looking for. You have to look at what you have (audio) and what you want (a reactive volume meter in a specific arrangement).

Ae can create keyframes from the audio amplitude of a layer. With a little bit of expressions work, you can use these values to drive other animations:

I'm proposing you create three solid bars, use the audio amplitude to drive their vertical scale, then apply a series of effects and mattes to finesse them into the final look you want.

Is that clearer, or more confusing?

Well it's a little clearer but I'm not sure what to do after what I've created. So I imported my mp3 file and extracted the keyframes from it, and then I used three red solids to make three bars. Now I'm assuming there's an expression to make them kind of go in and out? Instead if just animating the opacity like a solid red box from season 1?

Yes. Modifying Dan's expression from my link above to only scale Y:

minAudio = 0;
maxAudio = 15;
maxStretch = 2.0;
audioLev = thisComp.layer("Audio Amplitude").effect("Both Channels")("Slider");
stretch = linear(audioLev, minAudio, maxAudio, 1.0, maxStretch);
[value[0],value[1] * stretch]

Do I typle this expression to the scale Y of my solids?
