Is there a way to automate replacing "Longer Clip" clip with 20 other clips one after another (all of exactly same length with transition point at same time, so positioning of transition is not an issue) and batch render them all out? If I did it by hand I would have to render the clip, alt drag a new clip to replace Longer Clip then render that, then next clip and repeat 20 times. I should end up with 20 different files each with a different clip with that transition effect added running from pressing Render once ideally.

What's the quickest way of doing this?

Duplicate the comp. Use the Replace Footage command to put the new video where the old layer was.

When done with all the comps, add them to the AE Render Queue. Make the default output module the files you want t make. Save the project. Hit the Render button. AE renders 'em all.
