How to achieve this made of Fire/smoke effect
by Euntrell Davis on Aug 27, 2015 at 1:00:31 pm
After searching everywhere online possible for a tutorial, and coming up empty handed i was wondering if anyone knows how to make this "made of fire" manipulation effect possible in after effects. I need to know this for an upcoming music video so any help or info is much appreciated the sooner the better. Thanks

Wow. Those are some pretty cool images. Those are all stills. Doing this with video is much, much harder.
You could probably get close with AE, but it will be a lot of work.
For fire, you'll need to mess with the lighting when you're shooting to try to get as close as possible with the light (a really strong backlight, etc.), but don't worry about the color. You'd then key it, recolor and mess with the contrast in AE, then you'd use particle effects and stock footage to make the flames.
The lighting would be different for the smoke, but the basic idea is the same.
