Ram Preview keyboard shortcuts

Hi
Does anyone know how to ram preview and listen to sound only using HP 2000 Notebok? I have searched Internet but only help is available refers to Mac Pro laptops. This is a real problem for me as for some reason I cannot work on Desktop PC and I have to figure it out ASAP, so your immediate response would be highly appreciated.

Attached is image of my keyboard layout just in case if you would like to know. Also note that I tried to use several shortcuts I saw for Mac Pro laptops which are meant for keyboards without numpad but they did not work.

I too was looking for shortcut for RAM Preview, after looking for ages the only one I have found that works for me is the 0 on the numeric keyboard.

From your photo of your keyboard you laptop doesn't have the numeric keyboard attachment, to thus not being able to use the RAM Preview short cut.

I might be mistaken and there is another way but I haven't yet found one.

Have a look on here might find what your looking for.

You might try the ALT-M combination - on many laptops, the M key is an alternate mapping for the Keypad Zero key. As a matter of fact, on my Thinkpad W510, the Zero is actually printed on the bottom area of the M key. It's worth a try. There should also be Fn (Function) key combinations which would give you the keypad keys, but you'll have to check with the manufacturer's help for that.

Hi Joseph and others
It seems I had a misconception that regardless of your laptop model, key combinations would be universal where NumPad is not on laptop. I will keep on trying however, have already tried ALT+M without luck. The Fn key seems to relate with only top row of function keys (F1, F2 F3 and so on, apparently) which show some hint that those functions keys have dual functionality.

Anyways thanks a lot for taking your time and advising a possible solution.

Regards
Syed

One more thing to try:

If you can get your NumLock working, then part of the keyboard should then be mapped to get you the Zero which would RAM preview. It will take a bit of experimentation, but it should be there.
