Sure, it's great to paste an AI mask into AE. But can I go the other way?

I'm trying to quickly draw a mask around an object in my footage, then add additional noise (roughen) to the mask. Pasting it to AI and adding the Roughen filter seems like the right way to do this, unless there's an AE way to do this.

Thanks!

Did you try?

The answer is yes, you can, but I'm assuming that you wouldn't be asking unless you had tried and it didn't work.

Could also use the roughen edges effect in AE if that works for you.

That's great news, Todd.
Yeah, for some reason it wasn't pasting. Good to know the problem's just on my end.

@Jason: Thanks for the tip. Roughen doesn't affect the mask, but could still be useful.
