Rendering to preserve transparancy

In AF CS6, I rotoscoped a Heart out of a picture and I want to render it out while preserving transparency so I can put it in FC X and use it over other footage. When I try to do it I turn on transparency in the Comp but I get a black background around the image. Your help is appreciated.

Joseph

Are you using the right settings for rendering?

Go to Output Module Settings and Choose RGB + Alpha under Channels section.

I have to ask: why do you want to do it this way? You can render both foreground AND background in AE, then render to ProRes422 for a completed shot.

It's not like you're going to get any better image quality in iMovie Pro, y'know....
