Does using a small masked area of a video the same as using the entire video, as far as rendering speed/performance goes?

In my timeline I have several duplicates of the same video, all in the same time frame. However each duplicate masks out a different area on the video. Does AE perform better than if each duplicate had no mask?

I'm not sure if it affects render times.

If the shot allows, you could try putting all the masks on the same layer for comparison. Just fool around with the mask modes until it's right.
