Creating Layer Behind Object In Original Footage
on Dec 27, 2011 at 2:40:20 pm

Hello,

I am new to this site and looking forward to exchanging information. I am a filmmaker and have been using Adobe Suite CS5 for the past year.

For today, my challenge is this:

I need to replace a business' sign in the background of some film footage. Problem is, in the scene, actors walk in front of the sign. I don't know how to make it such that they can move unaffected by the layer created to replace the sign.

Any help would be much appreciated!

Welcome to the fun world of rotoscoping! [link]

And, when I say, "fun", I mean, "tedious".

Thanks Michael!

I've embarked on my learning journey into the world of Roto.

I'll post an update after my attempts have been met with a result.
