Hi Guys,

I'm trying to figure out how to get this revealing technique. I'd like to use it to reveal some cynic text and feel that the fiery nature of it works well.

It looks to me as if they are using an alpha of some fire to reveal it but I'm not sure!

Thanks!

Use something like the Cloud Chambers in Digital Juice's Compositor's Toolkit Vol. 1. Treat it like a Luma blend mode and it will reveal one layer to another. Hope I made sense. Best of luck.

You can try to use the luma from any kind of fractal noise or footage of smoke or fire. I find that the trick to the "ink bleed" is to blur the revealed layer while the luma exposes the underlying layer.

Then I would take a look at Digital Juice's Compositor's Toolkit.
